National Police Remembrance Day is commemorated each year on 29 September as a way of remembering sworn officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice across Australia. Each state and territory police jurisdiction across Australasia and the South West Pacific Region honours those who have given their lives serving their local communities. National Police Remembrance Day is also St Michael’s Day – the Patron Saint of law enforcement.
